582 Side-Mount Folding Rear Bike Basket - Black

The Wald 582 is a top - notch rear bike basket. It's designed with great ingenuity. You can mount it on the side of most rear racks with up to 1/2″ diameter. This handy basket is the ideal size for carrying 1 - 2 bags of groceries, helping you balance your load easily. When you're not using it, the base of the basket can pivot up, allowing the side walls to collapse. It becomes just 1″ thick. A simple clamp at the top keeps the collapsed basket out of your way. The extended basket measures 12 3/4″ front to back, 7 1/4″ side to side, and 8 1/2″ deep. Made in the U.S.A. (Maysville, KY), it weighs 2.8 lbs. The 582 baskets have a Zinc Plated Finish, while the 582BL and 582WH baskets have a Powder Coat Finish.

Using this bike basket is a breeze. First, find a rear rack on your bike with a diameter of up to 1/2″. Then, use the clamps to attach the basket to the side of the rack. You can put 1 - 2 bags of groceries in it for a shopping trip. When you're done and don't need the basket, just pivot the base up so the side walls collapse. Use the clamp at the top to keep it out of the way. As for maintenance, since it's made in the USA, it's durable. But try to keep it dry to prevent any rust, especially for the Zinc Plated Finish ones. If it gets dirty, you can gently clean it with a damp cloth.
