The CRS - 1 is an excellent bike tool with six inserts for installing the fork crown race. By using these different inserts, it protects the bearing surface from direct impact and ensures a perfect fit on the race. Simply select the right insert, slide the tube over the fork tube and into the insert's top end. Then, with a firm tap on the tube's end - cap using a hammer, you can safely and accurately seat the race in place. The CRS - 1 set comes with one universal setting tube, three 1' inserts, and three 1 - 1/8' inserts. It works well on forks with a column length of 340mm or less. For oversized columns in 1 - 1/4' or 1 - 1/2', use the CRS - 15.2 Crown Race Setter. It also services SHIS sizes 26, 27, 30.

Using the CRS - 1 is easy. First, pick the appropriate insert for your fork crown race. Then, slide the tube over the fork tube and into the top of the insert. Grab a hammer and give the tube's end - cap a firm tap. This will seat the race correctly. Make sure to check the column length of your fork. The CRS - 1 only works on forks with a column length of 340mm or less. If you have an oversized column (1 - 1/4' or 1 - 1/2'), use the CRS - 15.2 instead. When it comes to maintenance, keep the inserts and tube clean. After each use, wipe them down to prevent dirt and debris from building up. Store the tool in a dry place to avoid rusting.
